Embroidery Digitizing Defined:  Digitizing is the art of creating a format of stitches for your design. Digitizing tells the embroidery machine what stitches to place and where.  To be able to digitize your logo a copy of your Artwork is needed.  Art files such as jpg and eps. are preferred.  They can be emailed to us or brought in on a cd.  We can digitize your artwork from business cards and letterheads that have clear artwork.  This also depends on the complexity of the design.

Before digitizing artwork here are some guidelines to follow:

 1. Size of Design:
     Designs that are crest size for the chest should be no larger than 4" in width.
     Jacket back or full front designs typically run between 10" - 18"  
     depending on design and type of garment.  Hat designs will vary. 
 
 2. What type of garment will the embroidery be applied to ?
     A design going on a polo shirt will have different considerations in design set up than
     a denim shirt, for example. 
 
 3. Type of lettering:
     If you're design requires adding wording it's necessary to know
     the style of font desired (script or block, upper or lower case, for example).  Lettering
     should not be less than 1/4 inch high as it will be unclear, unless it falls on top of an  
     embroidered background.  This will help to stabilize it. 
 
 4. Thread Colors:
     What colors are desired for various parts of the design? 

Aside from digitizing from your artwork, you can choose from thousands of pre-digitized designs and customize them with your
wording.
